A Success Story
The following testimonial was written by John and Judy Young about their young dog Alys.
When we moved to France in March 2004 we decided that we could now have the dog we always wanted and In December 2004 we visited the S.P.A. in Autun to see what we could find. We found Alys !
She was about a year old, a Labrador cross and whilst she hadn’t a vicious bone in her body, she was definitely short on discipline. In summary, Alys has the intellect of Einstein, the running ability of Red Rum, the escape ability of Houdini and the common sense of a half brick. If it ran, Alys wanted to chase it. Our neighbours cats and sheep were definitely on the prey list.
What to do?
After a year of trying to train Alys ourselves with, I have to confess, very limited success in the most important areas, we came to see Fiona. What a difference ten sessions with Fiona has made.
Now we can walk across a field of sheep with Alys and we don’t have to worry about her chasing them. When we call Alys now, rather than her “considering our request”, she races straight to us. Her social skills with other animals are very much improved. We can sit in Fiona’s lounge with her four cats and two dogs and Alys will just sit quietly minding her own business.
All this was done with, to use one of Fiona’s favourite expressions, “insistence, persistence and consistence”.
Fiona’s obvious love of animals shines through in her approach to training. Anyone looking for help with their pet need look no further. Thanks to Fiona our rescue dog with a few problems is now a great family pet.
Thank you Fiona.
John, Judy and Alys.
